Hot Springs Campground

    Hot Springs Campground lies along the Banks-Lowman Highway, next to the South Fork of the Payette River and among old growth Ponderosa pine. The campground is named for the nearby hot springs and is often used by boaters floating the South Fork. Camp sites have paved parking and can accommodate recreational vehicles up to 35 feet long. There are eight family sites and three group areas. The group areas and three family sites are accessible to people with disabilities.

    $15 per night
    $5 per extra vehicle
    $8 for day use
    $60-$190 for group area reservations

Reservations: Three group areas can be reserved at www.recreation.gov. Fees start at $50 for groups up to 50 and two sites can accommodate as many as 300 people.

Directions: From Boise, Idaho, drive 35 miles north on Idaho State Road 55 to Banks, then drive 17 miles east on the Banks-Lowman Road to the campground. Click here for a map.

Amenities: Vault toilets, pressurized drinking water. Two toilets are accessible for people with disabilities.

Open dates: May 16-Oct. 12, 2009, weather permitting.
