Sagehen Dam Picnic Area/Overnight Use

    Sagehen Creek Campground and boat dock is 45 miles north of Emmett, Idaho, on Sagehen Reservoir. Boats can be launched on the attached boat dock.
    Sagehen Dam Picnic Area is 1.5 miles beyond Sagehen Creek Campground. Despite its name, the picnic area is managed as a campground and overnight use is allowed for a fee.

    $15 per night at Sagehen Creek Campground
    $5 per extra vehicle
    $8 for day use
    $5 per vehicle for boat dock use
    $12 for overnight use at Sagehen Dam Picnic Area
    $5 per extra vehicle
    $6 for day use

Reservations: Some Sagehen Creek camp sites can be reserved at www.recreation.gov.

Directions: From Emmett, drive 12 miles north on Idaho State Road 52 and turn left onto the Sweet/Ola Road.  Drive 17 miles north to Ola, where the pavement ends, then take National Forest Road 618 10 miles to National Forest Road 626. Take NF-626 seven miles to NF-614. Then take NF-614 one mile to Sagehen Dam Picnic Area. Sagehen Creek Campground is another 1.5 miles on NF-614.. Beyond Ola, the road is mostly gravel, and it can be driven in a passenger car during dry weather. Click here for a map.

Amenities: Vault toilets. Water is available from hand pumps.

Open dates: May 16-Sept. 1. The boat ramp and campgrounds will remain open until Sept. 15, weather permitting.

Nearby: Fishing, hunting and hiking are available nearby. The Sagehen Creek Nature Trail begins at the campground.
