Posy Lake Campground
This campground is located next to a small fishing lake among aspen and ponderosa pine. With an elevation of just under 8,000 feet, the normal operating season is from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. This campground has 23 individual sites and one group site with a capacity of 35 people. Each individual site has a wooden picnic table, a bear-proof food storage box, and a fire pit/grill combo. The group site has a fire pit, fire pit/grill combo, two serving tables, and two large tables.
There is a pack-it-in, pack-it-out policy for garbage management at this campground; however, there is a dumpster located on Posey Lake Road.
Prices:
$10 for a single family site.
$5 for each extra vehicle.
Free day use in four day-use-only sites.
Group area is $40 for use by groups up to 35.

Directions: From Highway 12 in Escalante, turn north at the elementary school and continue on a
gravel road past one junction (turn left) 16 miles to the campground. Click here for a map of

Nearby: Anasazi State Park in Boulder, driving Scenic Highway 12, hiking and sightseeing in Bryce
Canyon, fishing Posey Lake and others, Petrified Forest State Park, hiking the Great Western
Trail.
