Davis Canyon Campground
Davis Canyon Campground has five single family sites and is located on the banks of St. Charles Creek in St. Charles Canyon. There are opportunities nearby for hiking and fishing.
$12 per night for a single family site
$5 for each extra vehicle
$6 for day use
$51 as a group site, for up to 40 people.
Reservations: A few of the sites can be reserved together for group use at www.recreation.gov's Davis Canyon page. Single sites are available on a first come first served basis.
Directions: Take U.S. 89 north from Garden City, Utah, or south from Montpelier, Idaho, to St. Charles. Drive west from St. Charles along Forest Road 412 / Minnetonka Cave Road about six miles to the campground entrance. See map below.
Amenities: Vault toilet. No drinking water. Garbage service available in a pullout about a quarter mile up the canyon.
Nearby: St. Charles Creek flows through the campground and offers good fishing for cutthroat trout. Bear Lake Utah State Park Marina is eight miles from the campground and offers access to the boating and fishing opportunities on one of the Intermountain West's largest natural lakes. Scenic Canyons also offers tours of Forest Service-owned Minnetonka Cave, a few miles west. There is also nearby access to the Highline Trail, a 55-mile trail along the backbone of a mountain range. The trail is open to hikers, bikers, horses and motorcycles.
