East Sullivan Campground is perched along the north shore of Sullivan Lake near the town of Metaline Falls, Washington. The campground provides a unique environment where campers can enjoy swimming, fishing, sailing and whitewater paddling.

A small grassy airstrip adjacent to the campground allows campers to fly in via charter plane or bring their own small aircraft.

Reservations: To reserve sites go to recreation.gov. The group site can be reserved one year prior to the first day of your camping stay. All other sites can be reserved 6 months prior to the first day of your camping stay. Kayaks & paddle boards can be rented here.

 

Natural Features: The densely wooded terrain provides privacy at each site, and plenty of shade for warm summer days. Look for wildlife like elk, moose, white-tailed deer and the endangered woodland caribou.

 

The campground lies at 2,200 feet on the shore of Sullivan Lake. The lake spans 1,291 acres with a depth of 320 feet. The region's abundance of aspen and maples create vibrant fall colors and springtime blooms.

 

Recreation: Sailing, power boating, swimming and water skiing are popular on the lake. Hikers enjoy the 4.2-mile Lakeshore Trail, which is a designated National Scenic Trail on the east side of Sullivan Lake.

 

Common fish species include burbot and Kokanee salmon. Mountain biking is popular along the many forest roads and trails.

 

Facilities: Campsites do not have a view of the lake, but they are all a short walk away. Along the lake is a day-use area with a boat ramp, picnic tables and a designated swimming area. The group campsite is near the boat ramp and can accommodate up to 40 guests. Drinking water, vault toilets, trash bins and animal resistant food storage boxes are all available.

 

Nearby Attractions: The Salmo-Priest Wilderness offers multiple day outings with tons of excellent hikes and picturesque scenery.

Open Dates: One week before Memorial Day weekend (on Friday) to last Monday in September. For the most current season dates, please visit recreation.gov.

 

Directions: 95 miles north of Spokane, Washington, take Hwy 31 north through Metaline Falls. About 1 mile north of Metaline Falls turn onto Sullivan Lake (County Road 9345). Travel 6.5 miles to junction with Forest Road 22. Turn on FR 22 and follow .2 miles to the campground.  See map below.
