Luby Bay Campground is located on the west shore of Priest Lake, 28 miles north of the Town of Priest River, ID.  It has 53 secluded campsites which are shaded by hemlock and cedar.  The campground also has a day use area with picnic units, an amphitheater, and a swimming beach with swim buoys. Several steep paths access the beach. There is also a dual-bay RV dump station, located in Upper Luby.

$23.00 per night for premier sites

$21.00 per night for other sites

$52.00 for day use season pass

Reservations: Available at recreation.gov. Reservations can be made 6 months prior to the first day of your camping stay.

Directions: From Priest River, travel 28 miles north on State Highway 57 to Luby Bay Road. Turn right (east) on the paved Luby Bay Road and travel for 2 miles. Turn left (north) on the paved county W. Lakeshore Road and travel one mile to the campground entrances. Upper Luby will be on the left (west) and Lower Luby on the right (east).  See map below.

 

Open Dates: Opens one week before Memorial Day weekend (on Friday). Closes the last Monday in September.

 

Amenities: Pressurized drinking water, flush toilets, bear resistant dumpsters, and a dual-bay RV dump station.   Roads are paved.  Parking spurs are paved in the Lower Luby loop, and gravel in the Upper Luby loop.

 

Nearby: Visitors enjoy kayaking, canoeing and power boating in the nearby lake.  Fishing, swimming, birding and wildlife viewing are popular activities as well.  The public Beach Trail #48 parallels the lake through the campground.  Off-road vehicle enthusiasts will find authorized trails like the Peewee Trail, Steep Creek Trail and John Wayne Trail.
