Idaho Panhandle National Forests

Outlet Campground

Outlet Campground is located on the west shore of Priest Lake.  It has 28 sites spread across three loops.  Some sites are heavily wooded, while others are in more open areas.  The campground has a swim beach with an area enclosed with swim buoys which is accessed by a steep trail.

    $28 for premier site

    $56 for double sites

    $26 for other sites
    $10 per extra vehicle
    $8 for day use
    $52 day use season pass

 

Reservations:  Available at recreation.gov. Reservations can be made 6 months prior to the first day of your camping stay.

Directions:  From Priest River, ID travel north on Highway 57 for approximately 25 miles, then turn right on the paved Outlet Bay Road.  Continue about ½ mile to the county W. Lakeshore Road (gravel). Turn left (north) and travel approximately ½ mile to the campground entrance which will be on your right (east).  See map below.

 

Open Dates:  Opens on the Friday before Memorial Day.  Closes on the second Monday in September at noon. To see the most up-to-date season dates, please visit recreation.gov.

 

Amenities:  Flush toilets, drinking water, and bear resistant dumpsters.  Roads and parking spurs are paved.  Water spigots do not allow filling RV tanks - the nearest tank fill is at visitor center dump station.

 

Nearby:  Beach Trail #48 starts at the campground; it parallels the lakeshore on the east side of the campground, and continues north for eight miles.  The Chipmunk Rapids Trail is also nearby.  For off-highway vehicles, the Peewee Trail, Steep Creek Trail, and John Wayne Trail are nearby.  A RV dump station is located five miles south of the campground, at Luby Bay Campground.
