Reeder Bay Campground

Reeder Bay Campground, located on the west shore of Priest Lake, is 39 miles north of the town of Priest River.  The campground has 24 sites, shaded by a dense forest of cedar, fir and hemlock.  The road and parking spurs are paved.  A beach with an area enclosed by buoys for swimming can be accessed via a steep trail.

 

Prices:

    $28 for premier sites

    $26 for other sites

    $10 per extra vehicle

    $8 for day use

    $52 day use season pass

    

Reservations:  Available at recreation.gov. Reservations can be made 6 months prior to the first day of your camping stay.

Directions:  From Priest River, travel 36 miles north on State Highway 57 to Nordman, ID, then turn right on the paved county Reeder Bay Road. Travel approximately 3 miles, then continue past the Elkin’s Resort entrance approximately 1/8 mile and the campground will be on your right. See map below.

 

Season Dates:  Opens one week before Memorial Day weekend (on Friday). Closes the last Monday in September at noon. To see the most up-to-date season dates, please visit recreation.gov.

 

Amenities:  Pressurized drinking water, flush toilets and bear-resistant dumpsters.  Each site has a bear box for food storage.

 

Nearby:  The lake provides opportunities for fishing, wake boarding, jet skiing, bird watching and canoeing. The nearby Priest River also provides opportunities for anglers.  Nearby trails include the 8-mile long Lakeshore Trail and The Upper Priest Lake Trail, which takes hikers and mountain bikers to the Upper Priest Lake Scenic Area, which can also be accessed by boat.
