Willow Flat Campground


Willow Flat is a popular campground, located on the banks of the Cub River, in southeastern Idaho. It sits in a pretty valley, surrounded by scenic mountain views, at an elevation of 6,300 feet. Visitors enjoy fishing the river and exploring numerous forested trails.  Several group sites are available, the largest of which can hold up to 100 people.


Prices:

    Single Site

        $17 per night

        $7 for day use

        $5 per extra vehicle

    Double Site

        $28 per night

        $12 for day use

        $5 per extra vehicle

    Group Sites

        $39 for up to 32 people

        $64 for up to 50 people

        $87 for up to 100 people

Directions:  From Preston, Idaho, head south on U.S. Highway 91 for approximately 3 miles. Turn east on the Cub River Road (Forest Road 406) and travel 3 miles past the Cache National Forest boundary to the intersection of Forest Road 406 and Forest Road 407. Bear right at the intersection, staying on Forest Road 406, and travel over a mile to the campground.  See map below.


Open Dates:  Open Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day.  May stay open to the end of September.


Amenities:  Drinking water, vault toilets, garbage service.


Nearby:  The Cub River has excellent fishing.  A trailhead within the campground provides hiking opportunities, anything from a 1/2 mile hike to Sam Parkinson Spring, to access to the Highline Trail, a 55 mile long trail along the backbone of a mountain ridge.  Albert Moser Campground is located several miles before Willow Flat Campground, along the same road.
