Beaver Creek Campgrounds

Upper Beaver Creek Campground consists of two areas, both accessed from Forest Service Road 360. Both areas have an entrance sign and fee station. There are a total of 13 sites (one of which is a double site). The elevation of this campground is 8,400 ft.

 

Upper Beaver Creek includes a grassy field on the road side and large trees on the creek side. The creek runs within sight and sound of the campground. Some of the sites sit on the edge of Beaver Creek.

 

Lower Beaver Creek Campground consists of one small loop near the entrance and a second loop further into the campground. There are 17 campsites. The elevation of this campground is 8,360 ft.  This campground is still located in the ponderosa pine zone but transitioning into the spruce/fir zone. The campground is near Beaver Creek Reservoir.

    $24 for a single site

    $48 for a double site

    $12 for day use

 

Reservations: Not available.

 

Directions: Lower Beaver Creek Campground is located in Rio Grande County. One mile south of South Fork, Colorado on Highway 160 is Forest Service Road 360 or the Beaver Creek Road. Take this road for 4.5 miles to the campground entrance. The first part of the road is paved and accesses several housing developments before it becomes a well maintained gravel road accessible by passenger vehicle.

 

Upper Beaver Creek is also located along Forest Service Road 360, approximately 5 miles from Highway 160, or half a mile past Lower Beaver Creek. See map below.

 

Amenities: Toilets, drinking water, garbage bins.

 

Open dates: Friday before Memorial Day to Labor Day, weather permitting.

 

Nearby: Fishing, boating, and hiking are available nearby.
