Do you like working with people and living in the outdoors? Do you own a hard sided trailer? Perhaps you're a workamper? We'd love to have you as part of our team.

 

We have camp hosting opportunities throughout the Western United States. We manage campgrounds in beautiful forested mountains, many of which are near lakes or rivers. Each spot is unique and carries with it various opportunities for hiking, fishing, boating, or scenic drives.

To be a Campground Manager, you must be able to:

  • Have own trailer for living quarters 

  • Live on site in the designated host site in their management area. 

  • Provide information and assistance to guests to insure a quality recreational experience.

  • See that all fees are collected for facility use.

  • Administer reservations daily.

  • Clean restrooms daily and make an additional walk through inspections to insure restrooms are clean and supplied.

  • Police camp sites for litter and wash tables after visitors leaves

  • Do light maintenance duties, such as paint tables, replace light bulbs, etc.

  • Sell firewood and other approved items

  • Monitor and encourage compliance with rules and regulations

  • First Aid & CPR Training is encouraged.

  • Training will be provided. Must attend a training session prior to starting the job.

  • Most tools and supplies needed will be furnished.

Available Positions

Any hours associated with these positions are either split between a couple if a couple is hired or all for one person if a single person is hired. If any of these positions interest you, please get in touch so we can tell you more about them. 

 

Peak hours are for weeks that fall between the last week of June, all of July, and all of August. Non peak are all other weeks. If you know anyone else looking for a position, please pass this information along.

 

Idaho (Coeur d'Alene Area)

Kit Price Host: Kit Price Campground is located adjacent to the North Fork of the Coeur d’Alene River, with river access trails from the campground.  It is located approximately 66 miles northeast of the city of Coeur d’Alene, ID.  The campground includes 3 campground loops with 53 campsites.  The elevation is 2,550 feet.  Campsites are in a wooded area, though recently some tree removal has occurred - many large grand fir trees were diseased and dying, and needed to be removed for safety reasons.

Devils Elbow Host: Devils’ Elbow Campground is located adjacent to the North Fork of the Coeur d’Alene River, with river access trails from the campground. It is located approximately 69 miles northeast of the city of Coeur d’Alene, ID.  Devil’s Elbow is in a wooded setting and consists of 20 individual campsites and a group site for up to 50 people and a maximum of 14 vehicles.  The elevation is 2,600 feet.

Honeysuckle Host: Honeysuckle campground is situated in a remote, wooded setting at the confluence of Deception Creek and the Little North Fork of the Coeur d’Alene River, 22 miles from Coeur d’Alene, ID.  It has seven sites.

Sam Owen Hosts: This position is for a couple only. You'll reside at Site 5 in Red Sun Campground and take care of this loop (as one person). The other will take care of the day use. Or you can work together to do both. Sam Owen Campground is located on a peninsula on the eastern shore of Pend Oreille Lake.  It has 82 sites nestled among a forest of cedar and pines.  There is a day use area with 18 picnic sites, paved parking lot, and a large beach and swimming area.  Part of the beach is pet friendly.  A group picnic area can accommodate up to 50 people.  A pavilion is also available for up to 50 people, and has electricity available.  A boat launch is located between the campground and day use area.  Near the day use area is an interpretive station with maps and historical information.

Colorado (Near South Fork):

Big Meadows & Park Creek host: Big Meadows has 47 sites and a tent only group site. It rests near a reservoir that has no wake allowed. Beautiful setting among aspen and some small pine. The campground looks very much like a big meadow. Park Creek is just down the road and has 15 sites and the Rio Grande River runs along it.

Palisades Host: Palisade Campground consists of twelve sites, most of them in one large loop with a couple sites separated from the loop.  The site sits on the edge of the Rio Grande River among cottonwoods and a few aspen and pine. A railroad traverses the campground with some use by individual rail cars traveling through periodically during the summer.  The elevation is 8,300 ft.

Edgewater Host: Edgewater Campground is perched along the banks of the Pend Oreille River in the Colville National Forest. The quiet, family-friendly campground attracts visitors who come for boating, hiking and fishing. The picturesque area, surrounded by cedar, hemlock and Douglas fir, boasts views of the Selkirk Mountains.
