Mokins Bay Campground

Mokins Bay Campground is located 22 miles northeast of Coeur d’Alene, ID.  It is located near the eastern shore of Hayden Lake, though the campground is in a forested setting and the lake is a 10 minute walk away.   It has 16 sites.  A horseshoe pit is available.

 

Prices:

    $26 per night

    $10 per extra vehicle

    $8 for day use

    $52 day use season pass

 

Reservations: Available at recreation.gov. Reservations can be made 6 months prior to the first day of your camping stay.

Directions: From Coeur d’Alene, travel north on Highway 95 for 6 miles, then turn right (east) on the paved Lancaster Road. Continue for 5 miles, then turn right at the well-marked junction and travel another 11 miles on a paved county road that goes around Hayden Lake to Mokins Bay. The campground is located to the left off of a gravel road, a few hundred feet from the paved county road.  See map below.

 

Season Dates: Opens one week before Memorial Day weekend (on Friday).  Closes on the third Monday in September at noon. To see the most up-to-date season dates, please visit recreation.gov.

 

Amenities: Two vault toilets, hand pump for drinking water, and garbage cans.  Paved road and parking spurs.

 

Nearby: Fishing is popular on the surrounding lakes and streams.  Power boating and other water sports are also available in the surrounding area.
