Silver Thread Campground

As of 2023, this campground is no longer operated by Scenic Canyons, and this page will not be updated. For up to date information, please visit the Forest Service website.

Silver Thread Campground consists of 10 sites. A few sites are located near the entrance and highway 149, however, the core area of the campground is a loop which sits back off the highway in an aspen/mixed conifer forest. The campground is along South Clear Creek. The elevation is 9,300 ft.

 

Prices:

 

$23 per night

$28 per night for sewer hookup

$11 for day use

$14 for day use with sewer hookup

Reservations: Not available.

 

Directions: Silver Thread campground is located in Hinsdale County, 25 miles from Creede, Colorado on the Silver Thread Scenic Byway, Hwy 149.  The campground entrance is located on an inside curve along Hwy 149 and can come up quickly for drivers. See map below.

 

Amenities: Toilets, drinking water, garbage service.

 

Open dates: Friday before Memorial Day to Labor Day, weather permitting.

 

Nearby: South Clear Creek Falls is a short hike away. Fishing, boating, and hiking are available nearby.
