Located in the Rio Grande National Forest of Colorado, Big Meadows Campground meanders up a conifer and aspen covered mountainside above Big Meadows Reservoir. There is a group area that can accommodate up to 40 people. A boat ramp and Archuleta Trail can be found across the reservoir from the campground.
The group area can currently be reserved for all of next summer, and single sites open up to reservations six months in advance (meaning through mid-June is available as of the date this was posted). Reservations are available at recreation.gov.
